Haha. Another friend from lightcafe said (of those naked-girl-in-the-woods petzval shots) that "that's exactly how I'd feel if I ran into a nude woman in the woods: woozy, disoriented, and kind of focused in one particular direction".
If it were in colour, then I suppose Eric's 60s vibe might be even stronger. Say, what do petzvals do with colour? I don't think I've ever seen, actually.
I think the vignette (in the other version) is a bit too strong for my taste... too much "effect" rather than interpretation of the subject. In future experiments, how about cropping to place your bokeh vortex off center? Or use lateral shifts?
Photobucket removed this for "violation of the terms of use". I guess that's fair - we've got to think of the children here. The image of a life-giving breast can be quite traumatic for a young kid.
But moving along... yeah Keith, I both forgot that my speed graphic offered rise, and that this rise could move the vortex around. In fact during one composition I thought to myself "wish I could move the sweet spot" and then somehow failed to remember that you can use movements... go figure.
I guess it's because the speed graphic is so limited; I don't really think of it as a camera-with-movements.
