Nicely balanced and the contrasting light between foreground and background gives the image depth. Good to see some more HIE being used, but what will we do when we run out?!
Super shot Vincent, I'm a big fan of these standing stone type shots, think they are a great subject for infrared
Print it for sure, look forward to seeing it at our next print meet...
Thanks everyone for your comments. IR users have their own film speed setting and personal choice of developer, so for the newcomer it can be be quite confusing where to start out from as everyone has different advice to offer. I remember that I read an article where the photographer set the film speed at 400 asa using a red filter and developed his film in Rodinal 1+25 for 5.5 minutes. His results impressed me and I followed suit for years. I had no reason to change, I liked the results that I was getting and I accepted that the grain was just a feature of the film and added to its uniqueness. It is only in the last few years that I tried out ID11 (1+1) and I'm quite pleased with those results. I like the results that people are posting using other IR films and it won't be long before I have to join them with a new IR film. But until that day LONG LIVE KODAK HIE.
