This portrait works for me. I like the direct eye contact and I also like the angles of the walls to the left which, I think, help offset or point out all the lovely curves in the subject, clothing, shoes, etc. There is hardly a single straight line in that whole pose. At least that is what the natural light brings out I also think, based upon my own experience, that D23 has a way of bringing out the fullness of natural lighting like this.
 
Very intense portrait, the eye contact is amazing. The limited DOF makes her stand in front of the background, and the opposition between the straight lines and the curves make this even more effective.

Very well done !
 
Most interesting photograph! From the wrinkles in the shirt sleeve, to the folds in the skirt, to the abrupt contrast of work boots, this image is fascinating. Her mouth and hands appear gentle but strong. Beautifully executed...
 
Stacy is originally from Trinidad, but has been in Brooklyn most of her life. A talented painter.
