wow! this is one of those photographs that looks like a painting. its just beautiful how coppery-silvery it looks.
this must look amazing in person if it looks this pretty on-line.
It's one of my favourite abandoned Ukrainian churches in Saskatchewan. It's a gem. I'm hoping to make it there again this summer. Thank you for commenting, jnanian.
Thanks, Peter. There are a few scattered about Saskatchewan's and Alberta's northern prairie. Many are completely abandoned, many are not used, but still cared for. The one depicted above is completely abandoned, although the grounds and cemetery care kept up. There is a newer church just down the gravel road.
Gorgeous Andrew. My hometown has a Ukrainian church as well, and although it's not abandoned it sure looks like it. Unfortunately it is surrounded by trees and I have not been able to get a get photo of it yet. You sure do provide me with a lot of inspiration to try again though!
@Andrew O'Neill Fisher Branch. We are the "hub" of the Interlake, although if you look at a map it is the southern part of the Interlake. Actually almost every town in that region (if you can call them that - FB is more of a hamlet of 400 people) has at least one or two churches - Ukrainian and RC, but I imagine that's true of most of the prairies.
