St. Mary's Catherdral - Austin, Tx

8x10 Quadtych?? 4-way? not sure what to call it.

wet plate collodion on aluminum.

Silver bath is in need of some maintenance ... noticed a fair amount of fogging of all my plates this past weekend.

I originally shot this as a triptych with just the three top plates. I added the fourth (center bottom) plate as the last image, hence the brighter sunshine/highlights.

appreciate any comments/critiques/thoughts.

That's the one. For some reason I think the shot added later under different weather conditions adds to the overall work. I also like the modern context of the building across the street. It's a sweet job Matt. And no small accomplishment pulling all these great, big plates out of the back of your pick-up!

it hurts my eye to see those 'neo gotic' churches, but comforts my soul to see what you accomplish ! specific the fourth brought me at the idea of Monet and his paintings of the cathedral of Rouen. this is a thought...

I think this is a terrific work Matt .... would love to see it in person ...

Work like this makes me feel inadequate...please stop! ;-)) Really, the whole thing from the plates to your choice of 4..is inspired. K

Beautifully unusual , it should have hinges you swing the plates open on, like an old Russian religious icons did ...
