Bob- Thanks. I do try to balance the colors, although they're subject to change without notice. Bethe- The squares are designed in advance. I sketch them on graph paper, trying to get a nice composition. For this one, circles (and triangles- which hasn't been finished), I score the shapes on the non-emulsion side. As I do the unplanned scratching on the emulsion side, the scored areas are removed. I discovered this technique by accident... but it works for me.

Way cool! Lots of motion, texture, and just plain energy in this one. The colors work really well, as do the marks. I feel that squares are symbols of stasis, containment, finality, whereas the marks are so contrastingly energized and noise-like, which creates a delicious tension.
