Spicewood creek

I was able to take wetplate away from the house this weekend. Went to a local park.
Location
St. Eds park, ausitn
Equipment Used
Scovill&Adams 8X10/smith&sons 14"
Exposure
f/8 5 sec
Film & Developer
collodion on aluminum (5X7")
Great depth in the picture, with wonderful tonal seperation between the picture elements. The other thing that really hit me was that on my monitor, it looks more like I am looking through a window, rather than looking at a two-dimensional image.

Wonderful! I have always like photos that make it appears that you are standing in the water when you look at them.

Is there some quality of the process that renders the reflection so dark? In this case, the black shapes of the water on both sides of the creek help give that feeling of depth others have mentioned.
