I find these type of shots fascinating.
There is clearly rapport between the photographer and the group. What is the label that the guy on the right is wearing? What is the story behind the photo? My eye is pulled to the slightly out of focus chap in the right corner, was he deliberately left there?

I agree with John's comments, you have engaged the subjects well. I do however feel that the chap behind is a bit of a distraction, but not enough to spoil a great shot.

Thanks for nice comments! I met the young men when visiting a former mining town called Pilgrims Rest in South Africa this summer. They were nice people and we had a chat. I think that the guy with the label worked for the the tourist information.
As to the man (tourist?) out of focus in the background, maybe I should try to bleach him away? Or burn the corner darker?

Bleaching is going to leave a white area which will still distract, I would try burning down.
