Finally broke down and tried the Tri-x 320 in 4x5, instead of Efke 25 with a very hard push. The combination of shutter speed and a softer tonality from the film, seems to be working better for what I'm trying to get here. This is the most recent in trying to replicate the old 30's feel of galmour photography. Granted, the soft focus is more of a throw-back to the 20's and teens, but I do like the effect of this lens.
This is a scan from an 8x10 print done with Arista MG fiber paper. The actual print was done at 11 x 14 and printed on PWT (I'm going to misss this paper when I run out). In the scan, the black tones have gone too dark and have lost substance, but the lower portions of the tonal scale are faithfully represented in the print.
As always, comments are welcome. Thanks for looking, tim
