Great pictures of Friesland. My family is from there, left just after the war, so I love seeing all these great photos. Thanks for posting these excellent pictures. I only visited once in the early 70's. Your photos seem to me to bring out the essence of this unique and fascinating area.

I thought it was a sculpture commenting on modern life at first. I like how the roadway and barrier continue on the arm that must fill part of the road. This must be an everyday sight for locals, but it is just bizarre
