That's alot of sky tone for just a yellow filter. The shot reminds me of a bridge shot w/ the suspension lines blazing & the sky looking deep.

Yes it has darkened the sky a lot and this has worked well for the photo. I find that the effect of filters is not as predictable as I would like.

It certainly was an unexpected result. Must have been the angle, shooting nearly straight up. The sky was a deeper blue this day than normally seen, but doesn't seem it should have been quite as dramatic.
