That photo has 1940's written all over it. Look at that old car in the background. It's wonderful to find old photo or negatives like this. I have a small stash of them myself. They're absolutely a treasure and you done good scanning it. A pretty flock of birds in their Easter frocks.
Many of the negs in the project are in hideous shape, but thank goodness this one was alright. 'Spoke w/ my last remaining Aunt today & she didn't recall who took the shot, but I'd have been pretty happy w/ it. The old car, the collection of men looking their way. 'Looks like a Bogart movie shot.
Half the negatives I retrieved from being thrown away have a bluish tinge on the emulsion side. Maybe improper fixing but I made prints and scanned before anything else happened to them.
Sums up my feeling exactly. Those days now seem so far away that the average viewer would look at this and say what a marvellous authentic looking Hollywood film set this was. The quality of the neg means that it could have been taken yesterday.
A valuable photograph...nice work...it's your's now, doesn't "belong" to anybody in the past. This is part of your photography, like whatever you may have shot recently anywhere at all.
