Siena - Il Duomo

Il Duomo at nighttime. An amazing cathedral, both from the inside and outside. It is huge as well, and than to think that is was supposed to be enlarged even further, the megalomaniac plans only stopped by the plague in the 13th century, that severely hit the economic heydays of Siena and it's population. Actually, this picture has been taken from under the partially completed naves of the planned extension.
