Sid Kaplan

Sid Kaplan - I had an amazing opportunity yesterday evening to share wetplate collodion with one of the photography worlds legends... Sid Kaplan just before he and mutual friend Howard Christopherson went to Lily South Dakota for a few days prior to Sid returning to NYC... Sid was a gracious and patient sitter, and was blown away watching the tintype in the fix as it flip flopped from negative to positive image before his eyes... I was also snapped by Sid as my lens cap was removed...
Location
Columbia Heights MN
Equipment Used
Chamonix 810 and Dallmeyer 3B
Exposure
About 1 second
Film & Developer
8x10 Collodion on aluminum
I like this one for different reasons than the one with the dog Andrew...this speaks of his passion, the other of his inner calm...really great. K

Cool photograph. I really like Mr. Kaplan, and I'm glad you had this opportunity to spend some time with him, Andy.

I had to look him up to know who he was, he doesn't even have a wiki page... it's amazing that he's never seen tintype done, I saw your other post in some thread, so cool, congrats
