At first glance this could be a gentle afternoon in say an English autumn. Then a closer examination reveals what I suspect was a baking hot day. The stillness I see is that of heat I feel. If I am right then this is conveyed well
Yes, indeed, this was a very hot, still September day. Shore Lane is sandwiched between the Rock River on the west and a small ridge on the east. Perhaps 25 feet up from the river and another 25 feet up to the ridge. In this situation, the air was very stagnant that day. Good call! See the next photo for another scorcher!
