Wide angles are very familiar to me, with my work at a newspaper. You've used what I consider a very wide lens (for 35mm) really well for this portrait.

By that I mean the image is well composed, no distortion and doesn't use the wide angle of view as a 'gimmick'. It's hard to shoot a good portrait with a 20mm lens!
 
lovely work. I enjoy photographs of people and places that are likely to soon be replaced modern equivalents
