Cliveh - you are not so far off the mark with your observation- I made all these images with the intent of separating out the colour layers and then reassembling them
via multiple printing. I shot these and solarized before I ever made a tri or duotone colour hand print.
A lot of my inspiration comes from quad tone BW Silver Prints and in extreme cases my inability to colour them the way I wanted with chemicals. Iron Blue
was the tipping point for me and I came to the conclusion there must be a better way.
My background is colour photo printing, but the instability of the dyes crushed my soul, now I am in a different frame of mind about my colour prints.
Hello, whole series looks very nice and I believe they look magnificent on real paper. I just have a question (you might give some hint above but I did not fully understand your process).
Did you have solarized a colour negative and separate to 2 or more (CMY - K) negatives for different colour passes?
