Shiratani Unsuikyo #4

Actually, I kind of like the dark shadows. Gives it a more ominous feeling...like maybe there's some wild monkey waiting in the back.

I like the highlighted roots, if anything I would accentuate that.
What type of monkeys do they have there? thought monkeys were supposed to be cute.

@awty The monkeys are cute, but they can be aggressive too. When I went to see the snow monkeys in Nagano I found a pair wandering around town and (keeping well back) tried to get some photos of them. Well the mom didn't like that and threw a handful of snow on my face (she was sitting on a overhang, I didn't see her get up there). She kept throwing snow and screamed at me until I left the area completely. When that happened I realised that despite all the signs in the area to stay back and not engage the monkeys, there was actually no information about what to do if they got aggressive towards you. Luckily I had seen the monkeys fighting amongst themselves in the hot springs earlier that day, so did what the "losers" typically did.

@awty Google yakusaru. They don't look particularly menacing, but they can be nasty if they want. I tried brightening the roots a tad more, but given the whole image is quite dark it looked a bit odd to me. I'll try again in a few days and see how I feel about it.
