Nice work Thomas -- I hope you don't mind me asking, but what are you doing, film development-wise, or print development-wise (or both), to get such a nice range of tones in your image?
Thanks for your comments! @moose - I don't think I'm doing anything out of the ordinary other than paying attention when I print. I use f/stop printing, split filter technique, sometimes flashing, and sometimes toners to enhance tones. Film processing - I used TMax 400 for years without switching much, then went to Tri-X to get a bit more grain and texture. But I'm pretty sure that good results come from truly knowing our materials, and that comes from consistently using the same materials, over and over again. That's my opinion, and it works for me.
Beautiful image, love the action of the person with the violin case, maybe late for class? The back light on him is perfect too. You did a great job keeping the shadow details there too.
