Shinone Shrine sits upon Kurume Castle Ruins. I shot the one on the left a couple days before a typhoon hit. The one on the right was shot the day after. There was quite a bit of tree debris laying about, as expected. I was surprised to see that the Shide did well (white paper).
I liked to do comparison shots of before and after bad weather. This is from a series that never really got going... Anyways, I planned to contact print the shots side by side. Maybe I can resume it after I retire, and can spend more time over there... I shot both on Tri-X (before I discovered HP5!). I had to use a 90mm lens as a Torii (Shinto gate) was directly in front of it.
I do, actually. Once I tried HP5, I never used Tri-X again. Don't get me wrong, I do like Tri-X! It was the first LF film I ever used, and I've got a few images that I really like from it. I've thought about buying a few 120 rolls, and do comparison shots with HP5... Sadly, Kodak LF is beyond my reach. Cheers!
ah, retirement! I had so many project saved for retirement - which lasted 3 months. My grandkids came to live with me, now 6 years on, and those plans went out the window.
do it now! you're worth it, and so it the work, and your audience!
