shells in the window

Taken to test a "Fine Grain Positive" material from Ultrafine as paper-speed negative in an 8x10 camera. Paper developer and darkroom safelight.

The negative is very dark but not really opaque at all - it looks like it would take a lot of light to print it but doesn't. I'm looking at this material for a project with pinhole cameras and lots of 7th grade students.

Being in the seventh grade doesn't look all that fun, Suzanne. They spend all their time trying to be what they aren't yet- big guys.

Pinhole for 50+ active young men anyone? Some actualy want to use the Century 8x10, which lives in my classroom.

This stuff is wierd. I've used it as a "paper" but never triued it in a camera before. Possibilities...
 
50 seventh-graders to a class???!!! I have trouble with 35 high school students...

A nice image, but I suspect paper negatives would withstand more mis-handling and abuse from little hands.
 
Clarification needed, Mark. There are 54 seventh grade students in the school. I teach them in 4 groups, twice a week. It still gets a bit chaotic at times, but it's not really bad. I just like to make it sound difficult.
