One of my first medium format shots. Im really pleased with the soft colors, but the horizon is off.. evidence of me getting used to a heavier camera :)
Good shot, thanks for sharing. Yes, one of the biggest problems with shooting along the seashore is the horizon - a problem I struggle with myself. I suggest a good three way tripod (not a ball head) that has bubble levels. Regardless, great image. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you very much for your feedback. Yes, since that time I have purchased one tripod (somewhat lightweight for backpacking) and am looking at another heavier one for the car.
Your comment has piqued my curiosity though.. you mention that horizon is a problem when shooting along a shoreline. Is there something specific that makes that situation different from any other landscape shot?
This is great, although I would agree with the horizon issue. I myself like to include large portions of sky in many of my images, I think its works well with the square format. Straighten out that horizon and you have a wonderful image.
The problem with horizons in seascapes is that they are very straight and make any tilt obvious. General landscape shots often don't have such a straight reference point and it's hard to notice minor mistakes.
Having said that, you have a nice peaceful image here with excellent colours.
