Yes, Shawnee is a bit of a ghost town, but still has a family restaurant, a nice gift store, and a strong sense of community. Once 7000 strong in the coal mining days, the population has gone down to about 700. Named after the Native American Shawnee... Tecumseh apparently lived in the area at one point, lots of paintings of him in the village.
The town gets some tourists interested in Ohio history, it is part of the chain of towns known as "The Little Cities of the Black Diamonds," (coal). It is a great place to walk around and make some photos, lots of buildings with these balconies, reminds me of New Orleans' architecture.
