See.. I CAN do something else!
It is the scan. In the latest print - 11" x 14" (or so - cropped), one could cut a three dollar steak on th edges. Next is a 16" x (whatever) Exhibition print.
Decent effort. I mostly like it.
Since you're already cropping I'd recommend cropping a little more off the left side.
I find the bit of sky at the edge kinda bothersome.
Interesting observation, Ian. That "little slice of sky and marsh" on the left is one of those undecided - as yet - elements. I have two prints - with and without - hanging on my studio wall. It does seem to make a diference, but I haven't decided which I will exhibit - yet. Possibly, without. The major area of interest is the space between the trees, drawing the eye through to what lies beyond, and that little slice may indeed be a dilution of that drawing. Seems reasonable, which sets off an alarm - I don't want "reasonable"... Aesthetic is my major concern.
Eric -- It's supposed to be green. Aren't you going to ask how I did it with Black and White film? ... where are the smileys here ..?
