Thank you, Awty. I know you're no stranger to mechanical gear. The honorable Rmann & DWT sorta lit a fuse for me. All the indoor shots were under glaring florescent tubes - ugh. I really want to learn more & hopefully shoot the large clock downtown Portland.
Nicely done! The tones, and composition work well, even the lighting appears to have been cooperative! A grand example of the sorts of stuff that the southern New England states cranked out a century or so back. (Nay, far as I know, ol' Seth and I are not related!)
Pure precision - tones, composition - can hear this thing hum right off the monitor! The work you do with the Hassy has always been fantastic. Way to go, HiHoPyro!
DWT & Michael, thank you both. 'Always jealous about all the history the east coast has access to. 'Here, I'm amazed at anything in the 1700s, but you guys have stuff a century earlier. By Euro standards, hardly old, but Lewis & Clark didn't reach these parts until 1806. This town (St. Helens) was founded 1850. The courthouse was 1906. It was due to the kindness of the Columbia County Historical Society and Museum curator that I was given access to both the clockworks, tower & the old original courtroom. http://courthousehistory.com/images/gallery/Oregon/Columbia/St.%20Helens%20%20B_large.jpg
