Taken during Holy Week in Spain. I traveled to Spain on 4 different occasions and eventually had enough shots to mount an exhibition in the local arts center.
I know what you mean, but this festival dates back to the 16th. century and its purpose was to portray scenes from the Passion of Christ to the general public. The hooded figures were penitents atoning for their pass misdeeds. It lasts from Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday and is a paradise for photographers.
