Yes, the low angle lighting gives it a film noir look, guess that's what you were after.

heh heh...reminds me of a portrait class I took at community college recently. The instructor was discussing this kind of lighting, referring to it as "horror" lighting. One of the women in class misunderstood him and asked why it was called "whore" lighting. Needless to say, she has not lived it down to this day....

Vintage Villain look accomplished. I like it as well, very striking. Ive never been happy with my own self portraits, yours is perfect however.
