someone said ilfosol is good to slow flim, but my friend said is more suitable on fast film.can you give me some advicement on using ilfosol?thanks a lot!
The Pan F 50 showed every pore and imperfection of my skin, I was appalled at myself. But I liked the general feel of the pic, so just wanted to try something to soften the details. So I just looked around for what I had that I could use... I also printed another one (diff neg on same roll) through a thin white t-shirt type of fabric. That gave an interesting weave look.
Along these lines you may want to try printing a portion of the time with different textures... (ie: 50% normal, 50% through cheescloth) You could just print a small portion of the time (20%) get the effect, but not have it be so dominant. Lot's of room for experimenting here.
Don't feel upset even many models have far from perfect skin. We make them look good by using soft / diffused lighting. So if you screen the light with tissue or something similar between it's source and yourself you will be amazed at the results
I love this photograph. I'm seeing a somberness that I don't see too much and that is my attraction to it. I bore easily of smiley faces on photos and this is very refreshing. Keep up the wonderful work!
Thanks Mike. This is from an entire roll of self-p's I did, which I entitled "The film that made me cry". You can't really see it, but around my neck is a length of clear film. Well it wasn't supposed to be clear, but my developer died and I didn't know, and it happened to be a roll from a vacation, so nothing I could go back to reshoot. I can still see some of them in my head, they were gonna be gorgeous. Anyway, I used the ruined film as a prop for the shoot, (I think I even bit it once, to show it my ire. ) thus the somberness... plus the fact that I hate my smile!
