self port

here is another shot. i changed lenses and moved back a bit.

my eye brow and mouth position are funny. seems it takes quite a bit of concentration to operate a packard shutter and count to 4!

Eddie, can you PM me when you get a minute? A few things I'd like to ask about your wetplate work

Thanks!
Colin

That's fantastic Eddie! Great work!

I actually prefer the last one, it has such a forward and intense look, and the motion blur somehow accentuates that. This one has you kind of leaning back, so the posture isn't quite as special. I must say, you have a quite a characteristic face, I hope you are going to let someone fine tune a collodion composition of you!

Collodion eyes look so glassy and disturbing to me!

thats a good portrait eddie, i see you are using the thiosulfate fix, do you like that better than the cyanide fix, looks like you got a good pour on it, your getting good at this collodian stuff for sure!!

Lots of character to this. Well done!

frank,

i was showing some children the process. i work in my bathroom so i was not overly comfortable having children in a small room JUST IN CASE i F!@#ed up. i do not know how much acid and cyanide you need to mix to produce enough gas to kill anything but i figured i did not need to know!

i did spill a drop of cyanide into my developer (acid) pour off the other day! it turned green, i hit the fan and left the room! just to be sure.

the ammonium thiosulfate cleared very fast and seemed to make a nice image. i have not looked very close at the differences but i will.

Hey Eddie! Nice to see you!
