Seeing themselves - thanks to Polaroid

Seeing themselves - thanks to Polaroid

When we go on missionary trips, we take along a Polaroid camera. The kids, especially, enjoy seeing their image. Guess that opportunity will be lost... is that so? These people are in a very remote village in the Peten region of Guatemala. When I looked at this I wondered if these people had ever seen a picture of themselves.

Thank you. Their expressions are thought provoking for me. You know how it is to hear your voice on a recording? Imagine seeing yourself in a photo, maybe for the first time ever. I wonder!

Thanks for looking!

This is wonderful Janet. Yes, very thought provoking in many ways. I wish people more people could see how sad it is to see another era going by.
