Got a little better result by making sure of good saturation of sensitizer on paper, increasing exposure (1 hour since it's been raining all week with nothing but cloudy skies to work with), and adding a small amount of vinegar to the developing water.
Also, I suspect paper may have something to do with it. I've read that cold press paper is not a favorite for this process. Have some Stonehenge on the way though.
Beautiful! The time still seems long, but living in Canada's deepest South, I have no idea how to judge Alaskan light conditions. This is a great print; keep it up.
An hour seems like a long time, but I've never tried to expose on cloudy days. If you get some direct sun the exposures should be lots shorter. It's why a UV unit of some kind makes alt prints so much easier - exposure times are predictable and repeatable. And here on the wet coast, I don't have to wait for summer to do my printing.
Thanks for the comments. When out, the summer sun shines nearly 20 hours, but when the rain clouds move in it is pretty dismal. May have to build that UV unit after all.
