I traveled to China when my daughter lived there for two years. Everyday walking to her apartment we passed these bikes in the stairwell. I don't know if anyone rode them because they were covered with dust but made an interesting composition.

Notice the first and third bikes have old-fashioned rod-operated brakes. I have seen bikes like this in Nepal - heavy and rugged.
