Nice image, what's the grey band down the left hand side and at the top ?

At a guess they probably aren't on the oribinal & you've re-photographed the print.

Lovely image... Like Ian says, the grey lines do detract. Could be a slightly curly print and an issue for the scanner??

It is indeed the scanner - it's a very old Mustek that came with the computer. One of these days I'll get a new one, but I'd rather spend my money on film and paper!
