Now, what I think is interesting is that the sand gives a "pushed grain" look that gives the scene a metallic tonality. This despite the smooth-grained film and pyro dev. Interesting.

Andy, I love this. It's a truly inspiring print. Those smooth textures, and the fine gradations in the midtones are beautiful, and the nice deep blacks really help to carry the rest. You make me want to go to Cornwall, although I know I probably won't be able to afford it.
