Paul I'm a devil for cropping photos, so with this one I would be inclined to crop out a lot of the foreground. Maybe halfway from the bottom of the the picture to the base of the tree.
 
And I'd disagree. I think the composition is fine, the only real issue I have is the vignette from filters in the corners.
 
The light is wonderful.

I don't know also if you crop but if yes, i will perhaps try a square. It seems that an horizontal in the middle with nice 3 verticales here (The big tree, the white and the small black at left) works very well in a square.

Anyway, it's a very nice piece :smile:

I'd also be inclined to crop out some of the bottom since to me it overpowers the rest of the photo and makes it pretty bottom heavy. Love the sky and the rest of the composition though.
 
I think the foreground really helps to balance the composition. The vignette is minor on this one with it being one corner. To crop it square might be good but keep the right, top and bottom edges the way they are. My only concern if you crop it is the disappearance of the gorgeously captured color of that nice cloud.
