Saturn V Nozzles

This was taken at the spece museum in Huntsville, Alabama. It is fairly new, but they have a full size Saturn V rocket (type that went to the moon) and it is an awesome sight for a engineering geek such as myself. I knew I did not want a literal view of the nozzles so I took the shot with a toy camera (agfa clack) and hoped for the best. The very graphic nature of the nozzles begged for lith printing. Just to complete the image, I selected Russian paper (Slavich warm).

Great shot. Reminds me of when I was a kid in the 60's and watching the rockets launch in Florida where we lived. I toured the Huntsville site back in 1978 when they were building the first Space Shuttle, on a school trip. So cool. Great detail for a toy camera.

Nice, Mark! Love the texture and clean lines.

I like how you framed the image. A very nice abstract to me. I like how you used the light tones for such a technical detail. Thanks for sharing.

Good choice of means to photograph and print it. It sure feels threatening enough, wouldn't like to be beneath one of these monsters when it used to be fired up for a mission...

Aw well the Russians made the best rockets, its only fair that you choose their paper to finish off your image.

Cheers
