to my eye having her centered reinforces the pose of introspection with maybe a touch of loneliness(?). The lens affects are really interesting as is the brightness of the background. The fact that she is fit is possibly not too relevant. As I see it the subject is her hands and the pose and facial features set the tone -- she could just as easily be fully clothed and unattractive and the image would say the same thing. As usual I could be all wrong.
I agree with JD that the hands are the focal point of image, mainly do to sharpness and contrast. The image loses balance if it's cropped as some have suggested. It's a great picture!
Others have said it better than I can and they are absolutly
right! Simply has all of the components in place and the results are fantastic. Beautiful model, pose and the photograph in my opinion perfectly composed. Bravo!
Not so bad a lens, eh?
A rather haunting image to me, based on the amount of open space around her as well as her expression. She seems to have a quite striking face and perhaps you had her look down in order to not make it a portrait?
Nice but I'll bet the full sized image just smokes this tiny thing made of electrons.

I'm not qualified to suggest improvements to this excellent study, only to say the lighting, pose, composition and selective focus blends together well.
I would have been very pleased to have produced this image.
Fine work.
