Thanks all - I believe the Schneider 47mmXL is the mother-of-all wide angle lenses for 4x5. It has 120deg of coverage and I did not buy the optional $350 center filter so I get some vignetting for free! - I always figured I could burn in the center and did so on one of them for the print. For the last year, I have been trying to rediscover my world through this lens. It is certainly not all things to all vistas but it sure does put an unusual distortion on things. It is definitely a distortion - It is just not the typical spherical distortion - things are rectangularly elongated around the periphery - look for the grain silo I am posting - that really shows it.
