Sand trails

Taken on our favourite beach on a summer evening. About 1 hour after sunset with the moon high in the sky. The old 35mm Summilux wide open gives a nice feel and some great vignetting!

g'day Tony, great image, lovely feel and mood

but why vignetting, is that a fault with the lens?

Hi Ray, the Summilux does vignette wide open, all gone by F2.8. I actually like this effect and wish that I hadn't sold it! The new 35 Summiluxes of course don't have this problem if you can call it that.

Tony,

Endless summer indeed. Great shot full of feeling and meaning that would appear only to grow as the years add up.

Hi Thomas,

Maybe it was only this Summilux, the vignetting shows more on this shot because of the even tones around the edge. You are spot on with the film and dev. combination- very grainy- but I felt that it worked for this one. I develop my HP5 in D76 these days

This one says "book cover" to me.Great image!!
