Very dramatic and foreboding. If this is smoke from coal fired furnaces, it's all the more unfortunate as the wind bourne particulates will fall far further than the immediate area of this scene. Could be a view of "Mordor" for that matter. Well done.

Hello Ales, you have a very good portfolio of images here in my opinion. A bold a destinctive style, full of evocative mood. And this is the best one of all, for me.
This kind of image is not completely new, however I can not recall having seen it done much better, anywhere. It will pluck the heartstrings of anyone who views it, and has an interest in Man's affect on the environment.
I am reluctant to offer any criticism of an image that I enjoy so much, however since you have posted in the Critique Gallery I'd make the minor suggestion that a more graduated burn on the ground and sky could be beneficial to my mind. Just to allow the wonderful character in those clouds to feel a little less subdued.
But this is minor and arguably not necessary. Excellent image, congratulations.

Beautiful in a disturbing way

Wow, this is definitely the most powerful of your "Sad Landscape" series. But I do like the tone of the other two. Are you finished with this one or is there a reason you changed the image tone different from the others?
Very beautiful.

powerful.
makes a strong statement.

Thank you for your comments. For John - specialy thanks for your opinion about my part of portfolio. For Blackmelas - I will continue with more toned pictures. Sad landscapes has today 15 photos and it is true that no every photo is same in grade of tone.

really powerful, but for me the sky may be a little OTT. I find such images and the decision about the sky really tough. I have a few similar ones (general lanscapes of stormy welsh weather) and cannot make my mind up. It may well be the case that the real print is not so dark up top, as I know such images a very hard to reproduce on a screen. When I pop it out of the damaged frame (cracked glass) I will digi photograph and post the image that I refer to, as I am unsure of whether mine is too dark too...one day it is perfect, teh other it is too much of a 'lie'!

Well seen!

Tom
