Süd Tyrol IR #1

Experimenting with the strange and very unpredictable world of IR photography. There was a pool of light on the grass and part of the valley in shadow. It had rained and there was steamy mist rising. The distant mountain was indistinct. No mist visible in IR. Shadow side almost as if pitch black.

Incidentally there is some shadow detail in the negative that could be printed although the shadow is rather thin. It is not possible to print the highlights and the shadows in one exposure on the paper. I could try to hold back (dodge) the shadow but I decided it was probably not worth it and too difficult. Maybe I will try another time. For me the IR photos are just for fun.

Keep experimenting. Its quite handsome.

I like the aspect of the foreground, but not sure it goes with the rest. Cropping with just the mountain framed by the valley looks very dramatic and works well.
Yep keep experimenting. I like IR photography.

Yes, I think I will crop just the mountain. A bit like your tree picture, I really didn't know the picture would turn out like this!
