I learned a lot from this photograph - it's almost cross lit from one side to the other. The shadow does accentuate the nose but I like the realism. I also like the colours in particular - Portra is a delight for skin tones...
I like this short-lit version better than the broad-lit one you also posted. There's no catchlight in the eyes, which would have given them more life. Something like a small silver reflector above the lens would have given a catchlight without altering the shadows on the face. I like the lighting ratio -- there's just enough detail in the shadows.
I like all three of these portraits very much. Since this is the critique gallery, it a small thing, but, in this image only, she looks too pink to me, Maybe the red needs to be pulled down ever so slightly. Also, the background has a slight waviness to the tones, this one and also the first one. It makes me wonder if that is seamless background paper, and if it's been lying on it's side too long. This is little nit-picky stuff. The images are very arresting, not boring at all, and done with care. Great model, too.
