@DWThomas Thanks. The structure is some kind of tank embedded in sand on the beach; I could only get to it due to the low tide.

Really wonderful. The two square images are two of my all-time APUG / Photrio favorites. They both have a wonderful dynamic tension, Can’t see how they could be improved. A series of squares would be most welcome!
