Russian War Memorial In Brit Sector 1956

Taken in BERLIN when I was there in the British Army, Royal Army Medical Corps. The Russian War Memorial was built just INSIDE the British Sector so it gave the Russians an excuse to see what was going on. The TANK was taken off the Streets of Berlin with the dead crew still inside !

Ha Ha ! Yes -- Berlin was very scary in the streets at night -- many blacked out Mercedes cruising around the cobbled streets -- who knows what 'activity' was going on ---

@pentaxpete Yes one of the actors BBC use to use in stock "dodgy " German roles in such series as "The Saint" was a man called George Pravda. Once I found out that this was (A) a Russian word and (B) meant "truth" I couldn't help but smile.
