A Georgian townhouse, formerly the home of the Italian Vice-Consul. Now in a very poor state of repair and occupied by a political party (who shall remain nameless). There is a playgroup in the garden, I went there when I was child. Testing filters. Bright sun, a few scattered clouds.
Thank you. I really like the results I'm getting from using Ilford DD-X developer. It's rather expensive and one-shot but it seems to minimise grain and give a nice tonal range. Also loving the Super Ikonta. First outing for the light yellow filter and seems good. If I had added a stop this would have been overexposed and arguably the front facade of the building is overexposed already.
Svenedin, I just ordered some Pyrocat-HD yest. from formulary, and first Sly, now you singing the praises of DDX. And I can't argue - Sly's shot of the dock rope was EI 1600 - and I can see no grain. Ilford is certainly doing something *right*. I'm jealous you found filters. I've had a rough time finding them for the Ikonta or the Retina. I just love the feel & the tones here. That old glass is fabulous.
The filters are quite difficult to find at least at reasonable prices. My camera can take a 32mm slip on or the Zeiss 35.5mm screw on. The 35.5mm screws on to what looks like the milled outside of the lens (which is actually a thread). Then a 32mm push on lens hood can go on the filter (which has a ring to accept the lens hood). There is a seller in Germany on the well known auction site charging high prices but if you are persistent and search for such things as "Zeiss 353" (353 is the catalogue number), "Zeiss ikon 35.5mm" you can find private sellers selling much more cheaply. I got mine from Germany (around £8) and a UV in a leather case for £3.50 from the UK. I have yet to find a red (which I would scarcely ever use) but I have light yellow, yellow/green, orange and UV. Filters from the UK company "Actina" also fit providing they have the screw thread on the inside (a female thread). Not sure if you are looking for the same filters. A final option is a combined 32mm filter/lens hood that slips on and has removable 31mm glasses -fiddly, I have one and it tends to cause vignetting unless it's absolutely secure (which it is not).
