Shot this week in the ten k islands
It was amazing how fast the storms were moving and the light was changing. The tide was coming in and that was washing sand away from the island and picking it up in the current, the sun was hitting it just right lighting both the tree and the sand swept in the current. The light for this image went away quickly, I had to scramble to get the shot. I know its kind of dark but I think it fits the stormy scene. Please let me know what you think. More coming

It's always hard to tell with film scans. Is this a straight film scan, or did you 'burn' the edges and corners?

There's not much needed to improve this one! I'd consider darkening or spotting down the biggest foam blob, but that's about it.

Thank you all!
Murray, it's pretty much a straight scan. I use the 47xl on 4x5 without a center filter. This leaves the perimeter as much as two stops darker. I like the effect because I feel it pulls the viewer into the scene. I scan my black and white film on a microtek 1800f in 48bit color mode then in photoshop convert to gray scale with chanel mixer using only the green chanel. Other than that I spot dusted, did a curve adjustment and sharpened.
Sorry I know that was a lot of digital info but it may help explain the look of my images.

Thanks John, that helps alot. (Some people do tweek things and then it's hard to judge what is and isn't present in the raw negative).

Cudo's to you for getting the cloud to fill the frame so perfectly with such a wide lens and a fast moving cloud!

Dramatic.

I did a quick crop of right trees which to me interfere and add nothing. Then a bit of bottom. I like it both ways, but favor the crop..

This is a stunning image and is going to make a fine print. I have to agree with blaze-on about the crop. If you remove that tree on the left it gives your central tree a much better feel of isolation, but of course you will end up with a square image which is everyones cup of tea.
