Agreed. It has a lot of punch as a thumbnail which is then multiplied on opening. I am often in two minds about whether a subject should be in colour or not but in this case definitely not. It wouldn't twang my emotion strings in colour.
The thumbnail dragged me out of the forums (which is probably to everyone's benefit ) - this is a gorgeous image, the composition seems to breathe life into those statues. Wonderful.
Good eye...I like this a lot, your choice of view is not standard (IMO) and I really like the view you've choosen. One question, is that a gull or other water bird on the rock wall? It caught my attention for some reason, and sort of pulled me out ... not a bad thing really, not sure most would even notice.
This shot seems to sum up our recent holiday in Ireland for me. All it needed was a pint of the "black stuff" on the wall instead of the seagull!
This is a very popular spot on the Dingle peninsular and I certainly can't claim to have "seen" that particular view first. The sky was great, it was the end of the day and it had stopped raining at last The burning in of the sky was a bit rushed as I had to produce 20 - 25 postcards.
