Romantic Wanderer Series #10 - Playing in the Dirt

Inspired by Richard Misrach and John Gossage.

Misrach did some pics of dirt in an issue of Blindspot a few years ago that were in color and incredible, and I said "hey, I would love to do something like that in b/w." So, I took to shooting massive dirt piles and tire tracks and stuff at construction sites without the equipment, of course, just dirt.

John Gossage did some work published in an issue of Contact Sheet, also a few years ago, that was very dark and grainy and I loved that style, too. So, I incorporated the two ideas and with my Romantic Wanderer Series and this project developed....... in the dirt.

I love dark, grainy pictures.

If anyone wants to read my vision statement it is posted, on the previous uploads and I won't include it from here on.

Thank you for allowing me to share my vision.

Very cool series! The wanderer really makes it look like a mini-universe full of mystery and adventure. Keep it up!

Thank you both for your wonderful comments, they are greatly appreciated.

Trying to revive the romantic notion of the wanderer, re-establishing a relationship with nature.
