No.
Although parts of the site are available for rental by the film making world. A lot of movies and television series have used it.
The site still has some treatment facilities in a portion of the land, along with all the closed buildings.
I've actually started posting almost all my scans with at least some warming of tone. It matches what I usually do with prints, and it seems to really improve how images uploaded to Photrio appear on the screen - at least my screens.
Many of those stories are very sad - the hospital was (and to a small extent remains) a facility for the mentally ill.
I have memories of trying to help a client who spent time in treatment there. They are sad memories, of a frustrating situation.
I live a couple of miles from the (former) village of Oakdale, near Iowa City. This was the site of the state Tuberculosis hospital. I've made several photos of the dormitories and some of the other buildings. I'm glad I took some of these because in the last couple years several of these buildings were demolished. There remains a small power plant, what was a dairy barn, and several other buildings. The old inter-urban electric trolley went through the complex, the car operator would announce the approach so riders could cover their face with complementary gauze masks. Somethings don't change.
