River Bottle and Seeds

Wet Plate Collodion on Japanned aluminum. Made with my Kodak Anastigmat #31 lens on the Intrepid Camera. Image made with the lens wide open at f4.5

I Japanned the plate myself (such superior blacks!). Collodion used: Old Workhorse. Developer: "witches brew", which is 3 developers mixed from dregs.

This kind of imagery doesn't always appeal to me (which probably says more about me than it does the genre), but this one has plenty of aesthetic interest. Nice work, Paul.
 
@Kodachromeguy Two things: experience with these materials suggested a starting point, which was between 60 and 120 seconds and secondly, I made an initial test plate of 60 seconds before this final plate, as a "test strip", in which I determine how close my initial guess was. A light meter isn't very useful in wet plate work - its much better to learn to guess based on prior experience. Thanks for asking this question!
